Hey guys ok i had a recent post about what bass to get well I went to go play the ibanez and laklands and those arnt really what I was going for. I would like some suggestions. What I need is a nice 5 string bass active and with a nice solid B string and that is very versatile. My signature style is slap style and finger style and I play in a rock band.my budget is $500-$800. Also if anyone knows where to get an Ibanes SRX505 PLEASE INFORM ME.
    Thank you,

Just me, but I'd try a Lakland 55-01. You can find one used for under $600. Certainly there are no better low B's than the Skyline 55-01 and 55-02 series—IMHO!

Are you looking for a thin neck? String spacing?

Play the candidates. Don't shop with your eyes. What is your amp like? Can it handle Low B well?

  7. I used to play an SR505, it was quite wonderful. Guitar Center carries them. I'm not sure what the difference is between it and the SRX505 (I wasn't even aware there's an SRX line, shows how much I pay attention!), but I thought it was great for slap/finger style. $650 new, I think I picked mine up for $400 used.
