Guess I'm a traditionalist but I think the midnight wine with rose wood is dark and you need a lighter color to add contrast. The standard white or off-white looks best to me.

I used to have a mirror pickguard and black control plate on my old midnight wine Jazz and I was always recieving compliments on it. I need to find something to do with them, since I sold the Jazz a while ago.

    Red Pearl...
  7. It depends on what kind of music you play. If you play mostly layed back music, go with something more layed back. If you play really agressive music, get something agressive. But I think an off-white would look best...traditional and classy.

I agree... I think it should be something light... white or pearloid would look best IMO. :)
  9. I like black on midnight wine. Looks tres sexy!

seems like white is winning, but my K4 is red w/ wht pearl pguard! ...I'm liking that red pearl, tho. May just go red tort (can it be bad on a Fender?)

I have a 62 Fender tort pickguard on my Midnight wine jazz.
I put the thumbrest on too. IMHO it looks great :hyper:

Oh, let me clarify-the tort is not from a 62 jazz-it's the re-issue. You know, the one's you can buy in any music store, or Musicians Friend.

Pearliod's make great pick guard's that work with most colors.
