Thinking about replacing the stock pickup in my '97 MIA P-bass. I can get pretty close to what I want with this pup but the upper mids are a little too "grindy" for me. When I dial this out there is not enough clarity. Is there something out there with smoother upper mids/highs? I would like to keep the round bottom and growly low mids - I just want less of the grindy rock thing. I want to be able to dial in upper mids without sounding like Mike Dirnt.

    Central Ohio!
You might try the Bartolini 8CBP. Its nice & airy on the top, but still has a big bottom.
