    Hey everyone,

I'm going to be ordering a bass, but i'm having problems with the pickup configurations.

    I want :
    1) A Great slap tone
    2) A nice, warm fingerstyle tone

So, what I was thinking is a Musicman Style pickup near the bridge, and a Precision, in it's standard place.

Any suggestions, or comments? It's going to be passive.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  2. A P-MM will work just fine...so will a P-J...so will a double soapbar...so will a J-J...so will a MM-MM...

find the pattern yet?....that's right...if you go with a two pickup combination, you'll get a fingerstyle/slap thing happening...

a P-MM would probably be the most extreme of each...if you're looking for a larger variety of tones, however...I'd go with a double soapbar (humbucking) or a double MM and make sure to include a series/single/parallel switch for each of the pickups...
