First of all, I'm one of the weird guys that lurks in the effects section and plays atmospheric instrumental music, so I'm not really a big fan of pop music. Having said that, I would love to be the guy that plays bass for Lana del Rey. I really like her music and I think she is very talented.

Soooo, which pop artist would you really like playing for (money aside)?
  2. John Mayer, the Delabruyere era. However, I'd settle for the current era too. I'm not capable enough for the Pino era.

Not a big fan of pop music so the pop gig I'd want would be the one that paid the best and required the least amount of time and effort.

If money was not a consideration then there is no pop job I'd like to have. There are bass jobs I LOVE to have if money was not a factor, but none of them in pop music.

Would Jamiroquai count as pop? I'd take that gig in a heartbeat. Don't think I can keep up with Paul Turner, though!

I would not mind playing for Taylor Swift in the slightest. I love her songs.

    I been everywhere, man...
    None. At all.
In addition to dancing, Jamareo Artis really does play bass, very well, at Bruno Mars shows. He's one of the finest players out on that circuit right now.
  10. Agreed, I'd definitely love to play with Bruno and his band.
  11. Katy Perry. Bewbs. That's why.
  12. I dig the Avett Brothers, if that counts. Have to learn to play urb though.

David Bowie. Earth, Wind, & Fire. Peter Gabriel. Presuming they jump on the reunion bandwagon, Chic, Ohio Players, and The Commadores. Grand Funk Railroad, just for the opportunity to play with Don Brewer. Zappa Plays Zappa. Yes, Tool, Porcupine Tree...

Does any of that qualify as "pop"?

I like a lot of current pop, and I'd love to tour with Lorde, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, Taylor Swift etc. The likes of Bruno Mars or Adele, maybe not so much, but I'd still have fun.

But my first choice would be Inna. Found this totally random picture of her with a Precision, too.

im going to totally have to agree with you there. :hyper:

    this sums it up
  20. Neil Sedaka.

Plays a light schedule. Pays well, the band and entire staff is off-the-charts first rate. Jim Fielder's seat is probably not coming my way anytime soon though.
