I'm going to be ordering a batch of parts from Bass Parts Resource, a few of which are 500k potentiometers for my Jazz Bass.

    * Do I go split shaft or solid shaft? I have the traditional knobs on my Jazz.

    * Do I go short shaft or long shaft? I've got the standard traditional chrome control plate.

Plastic pull on knobs require a split shaft, knobs with a locking screw are solid shaft. Should be the short shaft.

Without knowing what kind of Jazz bass you have it is impossible to tell you what they are. If it is a Mexican it could be any number of sizes, they don't order a standard part size, they get whatever is cheapest at the time.
