Hi all. I am starting to jam with a drummer buddy of mine and we want to change directions. We both come from a metal, hard rock, prog mindset, but want to dive into the world of adult alternative. We want to play a driving type of mix of tunes to make the booty's move and drinks flow. Long renditions of La Villa Strangiato just don't do that anymore, if ever! Lol. We are thinking in the line of Govt Mule, JJ Grey and Mofro, Frankenreiter, some of the edgier stuff of the adult alt crowd. Can you guys suggest stuff for us to listen to get figure out where to go from here? Thank you so much!

Govt mule and jj grey are great places to start. Also check out big Crawford. Try to hunt down the artists that inspired them too.

Just play! Don't try to preconceive your music - the best stuff will be your influences streaming through your heart and fingers - or some sh%$ like that...
