Someone suggested some changes in the shape for my custom. #1 or #2?
Is there a #3, too?
To me they look like the upper horn goes too steep, and will be too long before it reaches a good balance point (around 14th-13th fret), also, "baby's got back" - and a big, lopsided one.
Just my opinion
Actually, according to my luthier, the upper horn will extend to the 12th-13th fret.
Than the upper horn will be longer than the one on the Tune Space bass...
(I see a bit o its influence, BTW)
The Space bass had the upper horn at a lower angle.
But I still think the butt is a bit big compared to the rest of the body/horns/neck
# 2 looks like a morbidly obese Nike Swoosh...............
I like #1. 2 looks kinda metal.
It's a case of apples and oranges. The space bass has 36 frets from what I understand, and it's body is shorter.
what is that pic in your avatar?
id go #1
That's a serious babe stradling a jetglo Ric.....just like mine
I agree, That's why I voted for #2.
#2 but with the upper horn of #1 would look good IMHO.
Sorry but I don't like either, it's just my 2 cents being thrown in. But between the two #1 is without a doubt nicer. The upper horn on #2 doesn't look right curling up at the last minute.
ok... I need the pic bigger!!!
I was starting to like #2 better until you said that..... :scowl:
from bob and toms bass talk page
A BIG vote for #1. Tune Space Bass = awesome, the upper horn on yours looks awesome.
i also go for #3 Balacaning looks weird, it look weird, and it dosen't seem very comfortable
Actually I got it from Harmony Central......recycled over and over I'm sure.
A sincere thank you to all you guys for offering your opinions. As you can see, the popular vote seems to be going in favor of #1.
