    Scotland,
I've been trying to get a new sound from my bass.
Just like Mike Dirnt's (Green Day). I've tried lots of settings on my amp and on my bass (but it was pretty cheap and doesnt have much option with tone) so I was wonderin' if anyone could recommend a set of strings that may give me a better comparison. (Too give an exact sort of sound that I want, could you please download "She" and perhaps "Warning(live)") These two have got the best that are easy to spot.

And, P.S. any ideas on what maybe I should set my tone and amp too?

    TY in advance.

If it's any help, Mike Dirnt uses D'Addario Slowounds in gauges of .105 .085 .065 .045.

    Scotland,
Thanks guys. I'll also try that AMP setting when I get back.

I somehow snapped my G-string yesterday so that means I've been able to bribe my mum into buying me a new set :D I didn't even mean it !! :)

  8. DR strings like low riders or high beams are the best and you can get them for about 25 dollars on ebay or other online sites, another option would be Ernie Ball super slinkys !! Gaging is a personal choice but 105 thru 45 are the norm is there is a norm!

And remember if its not groving, then the crowd's not moving!!

  9. gaging sheesh !!!!!
