Hello everyone! I currently have a MIA P bass body sans neck, and Id like to get it working this summer. I'll buy a Maple p bass neck from Mighty Mite, if only for cost purposes. Of course, the neck will need tuners! I have no experience with installing tuners, and Mighty Mite seems a bit tight lipped with their information on peg hole size and so on. Even then, Im not sure exactly what specifications I need to find before I choose some tuners. I have been thinking of Hipshot ultralites, as I want to avoid neck dive as much as possible. I think I need the 11/16ths ones, but Im not sure. Any help, even just in terms of what I need to find out to get the right tuners, would be wonderful! If you have a specific light tuner you have used and would recommend, I would love to hear it. Thank you!
I had a MM P(5-string)neck for awhile- never got around to using it, but it had been drilled(presumably from the factory)for the larger, Fender-typle tuners. A set of genuine vintage-70s tuners I had lying around fit nicely. There are lighter(than typical Fender-type)units that would fit the larger holes, but I'm not sure which ones.
