Which would be the better option?

I'm currently in the market for a new bass and I've chosen the Cort Curbow 5. While at a local music store, I found one, but instead of having a Bartolini MK-1 like the newer models have, it had the Mighty Mite that the older models had. Since the bass is older, is somewhat used, and has the sub-par Mighty Mite pickup in it, the owner of the shop is offering it for $250. A good buy if I say so myself, but that brings one question to mind:

Would it be better for me to buy a new Curbow with the Bartolini for around $420, or should I get this model for $250 and replace it with the Bartolini CF5CBC, which is the same shape as the Mighty Mite? :meh:

    Thanks in advance!!!

EDIT: Which option would have better sound?

Better sound is subjective, but if you can save money even after replacing the pick up, that's what I'd do.

I may do what is mentioned above then. All together, the price of that bass plus the planned Bartolini replacement is only $355. Still not bad at all. I guess I'm just curious as to what the Bartolini CF5CBC is like, but I'll just look online for reviews of it.

Btw, since the thing is somewhat used (has scratches and some wear) what would be a good product to use to give this bass a "new-ish" look? Anything that works well on Luthite?
