Jaco Pastorius on Electric and probably Charles Mingus on double bass/upright bass-acoustic bass.

How about Scott Lafaro? The great jazz bassist for The Bill Evans Trio who died in that car crash.

Yeah James Jamerson and Carol Kaye. Two of the best session bassists of all time!

    Who’s your Favorite Bassist?

In my younger years it was Geddy. In my older years it still is.

It's interesting to note how little he seemed to matter to Barry Gordy. In his own time he was undervalued, undercompensated, and under-credited. Under PHOTOGRAPHED for that matter. Why is this the only photo of James Jamerson anyone's ever seen? (Maybe there are more, I can Google it later.)

Is everyone gonna post all these pics of him now just to be all One-Uppy & Talkbassy?

  15. I posted Jamerson because his lines have most educated and informed me as a bassist. That Talkbassy enough for you?

And then some. By virtue of the fact that in spite of agreeing with you you're responding like I whizzed in your cornflakes. Exponentially Talkbassy sunshine.
