  1. all i hear in this website are Michael Manring this and Dann Glenn that...

but these guys are not really talented at all.

who do these guys play with?!?!?
    Drum machines...

we need to be seeing more Gary Willis, Wooten, Garrison...etc.

cuz these other "virtuosos" you guys idolize are limited in musical interaction.

And I didn't know Tim Alexander is a drum machine (cf. Michael Manring's Thonk album or Attention Deficit) - he really is precise, though.

Still don't get it. What did upset you?

Dann Glenn has his forum and Michael is popular, but Willis, Wooten and Garrison get more attention here I guess...

  5. You lost me there. Could you please explain why these other "virtuosos" are limited in musical interaction??

You're absolutely right, Rafterman. These guys are completely lacking in talent, and limited in their musical interaction.

  7. Who the hell is Tim Alexander!?!?

    He's a nobody!

i'm ticked because these ppl don't play with other good musicians and get more recognition than ppl who do play with good musicians (i.e. Gary Willis, Matthew Garrison, Tom Kennedy, Victor Wooten, etc.)

at least Jeff Berlin got in Talkbass

  8. what other good musicians do these ppl play with?

have they played with Michael Brecker, or Vinnie Colaiuta, or Allan Holdsworth, or Dennis Chambers...etc!?

  9. a real virtuoso can sound amazing and play with other virtuosos as well.

I understand if you dislike them, or the fact that they don't play with other "famous" musicians, but in your heart of hearts, deep inside, do you HONESTLY think that Dan Glenn and Mike Manring are "talentless"?

  11. well maybe I went a little too far there (i was doing some major venting).

they may have great talent...but there are bass players out there that can totally smoke these guys.

there is way better talent out there.

and Talkbass needs to recognize that talent.

I think it could be an availability thing. I'm sure the powers that be @ TB would love to get Willis, Wooten, etc. to do some things here, but maybe it's not possible.

  13. ahhh well...whatever.

    i'm calm now.

  14. Lately I've been listening to the voices that tell me it's time clean the guns.
