Who besides John East sells just a bass treble stack?

  1. My bass just developed a scratchy sounding treble pot on my bass/treble stack, and I want to replace it. Can these just be wired in like the old one, or do I need a whole new preamp?

  2. Try cleaning it. You might just have a little dirt in there.

  3. how?

Get some contact cleaner. It comes in two flavors: lubricated and unlubricated. For pots get the lubed. It's just amazing what a difference that stuff can make.

  6. Can't really clean these Alps pots, in my experience. The closed design makes it pretty much impossible. Good news is they can be replaced, but it's somewhat difficult, and you'll need to get the pot from East. Not a Radio Shack item.
