Looking for a "Geddy Vee"-style bass. Valenti? Nordy? Who else would you recommend?

The Fender Custom Shop might be able to help... Ged's 4's mostly come from there...

You may have trouble finding a 5 string Badass Bridge.

Anybody who can build a parts bass can make one ...

    Pretty easy ....

  7. Wait a second. The words "Geddy Vee", have me confused. Does that mean a black, 5-string Flying V, with a white 'guard, with a maple 'board & black block inlays?

    Try Lakland...(JP@lakland.com)

I had thoughts of having them build me one (or 2???) a while ago but other things seem to jump it in teh priority list.

As a guy who used to have a Valenti and now has a few Nordys, I would say Valenti has more options and at a better price point......that being said, I dont believe anyone makes a better 5 string jazz bass than Carey Nordstrand. Bottom line, you cant go wrong with either choice.....Good Luck!

I've heard them - they sound very "woody" and resonant. Not very high output, though.
