Can anyone recommend someone to do some work on my Fodera? Here is what I would like done.
#1- the body refinned, it is currently a see thru black which looks kind of purpleish in certain light. I just want it an even coated see thru black, it's a bolt on so it can be taken apart to do the job. i don't think it would have to be stripped, would it? Just evened out to match the darker edges, the headstock looks completely black so that wouldn't have to be done at all.
#2- a P pickup put into the neck position, routed so that all I would have to do to go from a PJ setup to a JJ set up is pull the pickup out and switch pickguards, one pickguard would be cut for the P and one for the J.
#3 The hardware switched to either all black or all chrome, and a pickup cover for the P, this may be impossible to find if I go with black hardware. does anyone make Black pickup covers for 5 string?
Any idea of the prices? Can any ONE person do this or would I have to send it to multiple people? Carey Nordstrand? Mike Lull? Beuller?..Beuller?..Anyone....Help!

Why, I didn't see any rules. How should I phrase the question? Britt

Unfortunately it probably would. It has probably been buffed out with polishing compound and new coats may not adhere as a result. You might look up Pat Wilkins.

The bridge and tuners you should be able to get from Fodera and do yourself.

  6. None of the builders here can discuss their services in the vein of a commercial post. This precludes them from even saying "Yes" they can do the work. These are the rules of TB that all commercial members agree to. There are other aspects of the non-commercial post rule but that's the part that applies here.

Like tjclem has suggested, if you have read or seen something from someone that makes them look promising, you should contact them via PM or email and explore the possibilities. That's how a LOT of work like this gets done around here.

Thanks, it looks promising, but I should probably get the P pickup route done before having it finished.

agreed - I was thinking that it'd be more difficult to find a quality refinish outfit than to find someone willing to carve into a Fodera.

Shucks, if I wasn't so leery of taking the plunge (pun intended) of working on a Fodera, I'd route the p/u recess for you just for the bragging rites :D

    All the best,

    R
