Lol, just scored this CLEAN, vintage Westone Rail! The thing plays and sounds AWESOME! The guy selling her also had the original gig bag also in great condition. Score!!!!! :):bassist::hyper:

Holy 80s :jawdrop: That thing looks like you could launch rockets out of it and blow up a bar full of thugs to rescue your rebellious big-haired girlfriend while synthy pop music blasts from the burning speakers.

    Neat! Congrats!

I remember those, and of course the Steinbergers. For all the complaining about weight these days, you'd think they'd make a comeback. For me, I found them too light, especially if you move around a lot on stage. But they're very cool anyway. The austere aesthetic appeals to my modernist-minimalist mind.

Congratulations! We should start a club …
… to blow up with our bazooka basses.

(I figured since it was already headless and bodiless, mine might as well be fretless, too.)

That’s when I got mine dirt cheap  my mom picked me up at the airport and we stopped by a music store on the way to our destination. She saw this thing and said “well, you’ve got to have that.” That didn’t mean she was paying :roflmao: but yes, it came home with me :bassist:

Many have said that these basses are the best way to really learn how pickup placement affects tone. Obvious, yet also profound.

I wanted to put mine down an octave from a cello (CGDA), but the stainless flatwounds kept slipping the clamp, so I ended up in CGCF. I might have to try tapewounds or pressurewounds or something.
