who else names their basses?

  1. yes it is very silly!! :p but it is very fun! I started naming my basses when a vocalist from a band I used to be in did not know basses by brand but by color, so the bass I was using in the band was a ruby red ibanez sr 305 and He just called it ruby so it stuck, my new bass which is my new fender dimension v!! my favorite is a cherryburst so I named her amber, it was better than cherry. So anyone else name their basses??

  2. I call my JagSS 'Paris'..........named after Paris Hilton.

I call my Ibanez SR500 'Meryl"........named after Meryl Streep.

  5. Most of my basses have names especially my 4 Carvin LB50 basses. Taz is my main squeeze since 1983. Toney is #2 with EMG HB pups, my rock and studio mainstay. Tiger is a very pretty Koa bass that is a bit stiff and gets experimented on to find the perfect string set. Tweety is my black piccolo bass.

  6. The people that made them named them for me.

It's an extra service they provide at a nominal fee.

  9. I called the bass I made from English Ash 'Dieback'

Not sure if that's in bad taste, or a good way to raise awareness.

Just so it's clear--if you do name your bass--I'm okay with that, I don't do it, but hey--it's your bass--name it or don't.

hehe because it's a Mexican bass, starts with P and Pendejo is the first Mexican word I learnt thanks to Cheech and Chong (thus the Cheech name too hehe)

If you haven't seen the movie, Chong crashes into some Mexicans' front fence, Chong asks Cheech for the Mexican word for sorry. I know it's a swear word, sorry if I offended anybody by it.

Not offended at all mate, I just thought it was funny. I got the Mexican P thing. If I had ever named a bass that, my mum (she's Mexican) would have slapped me silly, hahaha!
