Why has everybody suddenly become so concerned about the weight of a bass? Who cares as long as it’s not 20 pounds??? Even if it was 20 pounds... if it sounded great I’d still play it. Everybody grow a pair and stop bitching about a bass weighing more than 10 pounds. If you’re that concerned, switch to the flute or the triangle you Nancies.
I play 175 gigs a year... most that are 3 hour weddings juke box style with NO stops. All with a 13 pound 6 string Rockwood Curbow and I’m fine. Do some core strengthening exercises and quit your moaning. Or get a stool and sit down Doris. Kinga Glick plays a Fender Jazz that weighs 10 pounds and you don’t see her moaning about it. Grow up.

After 50 a person gets a lot more concerned about the weight of gear.

Great advice. If you have spinal or neck injuries you have no business playing a musical instrument!
Actually, not great advice. Kind of trollish, really.

Almost everyone who has ever had a spinal injury.

Oh I get it, if we like lighter instruments we must be women, right?

I already do, and it makes my 3,600 Gram bass feel even lighter. I haven't been moaning about it, & haven't noticed others doing that.

    The irony is palpable!

Actually, it’s you that needs to grow up.

What the heck is it to you whether someone is concerned about the weight of their bass or not? You just moaned and biotched 2 paragraphs about something that’s none of your damn business. And then you have the unmitigated gall to tell those folks to grow up?? Who the hell do you think you are, anyway?

Take your self-righteous indignation and stuff it in a sock. And if you really do play bass, go play the thing. If you’re doing it right, you’ll feel better.

    I swear....
