Who have you seen play?

  1. I like talking about peoples experiences. I myself haven't seen many play but here are a few of my faves;-

    Timmy commerford (Absolute quality)
    Shavo odadjian (SOAD, Pretty cool)
    Sam rivers (Pretty cool, always liked him even though LB suck)
    Chi Cheng (Deftones rule!!)

    seen loads of bands with bassist who i don't know.
    As you can see i've not seen any of the amazing bassists but as soon as i can drive i'm gonna go and see loads. just waiting on Mark King to come to Ronnie Scotts in B'ham.

    Unfortunately, I've haven't seen many of the big name bassists, but here are a few I have seen:

    John Entwistle
    Pino Palladino (playing with Richard Ashcroft)
    Alanzo Bevan (Kula Shaker - I THINK that's his name!)
    Andy Bell (Oasis)
    Marco Nelson (with Paul Weller - pretty good little session player)

    There are loads more I've seen whose name I can't think of, but they're the only ones that come to mind.

    Nearest venue is and hour away...I don't see many. Only one worth mentioning was Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne. Other than that...nobody but some indie punks (litterally)

    I've seen John Entwhistle twice, both were awe inspiring. Also: Sunny Day Real Estate (woohoo :D) No Knife, Phil Collins, Pantera, Incubus, Kittie (i'm sorry, i really am) and Dave Matthews Band. i see a bunch of local jazz combos play, and I think those are the most enjoyable. (after Sunny Day Real Estate)

    Also i was reading metal hammer magazine and the kittie bassist won best bassist in the world, it took me several days to come out of manic depression over this.

    I havent seen that many in my life but i have seen

    Kiss alive worldwide 96' Lifelong dream realized.

    The Who at the Gorge in George WA.

    And Rick Springfield in Vegas my Wife made me go Hell of a entertainer though, his bassist was the guy who replaced Billy Sheenan in David Lee Roths band.
