Who do you guys think is the best Christian bassist?
Pino Palladino play some great stuff on the "Christians" first album.
Hmm, I would say :
Fred Hammond (Radical for Christ)
Reggie Parker (Hezekiah Walker and others).
I assume this thread was started with the "contemporary Christian bassists" in mind. However, I think there are probably a lot of great bassists who are Christians but just choose not to mention it. Victor Wooten mentions God in the liner notes of his albums.. I don't know if he's a Christian, but.. you see where I'm going here?
The guys for Haven and Sacred Warrior, both Cristian metal bands, were pretty good.
And definitely the guy from Tourniquet.
Hey. What about John Patitucci? He must be the best.
At least that is vocal about it. I dont think I spelled his last name correctly. Sorry John.
Danzig's bassist is quite good and what about Manson's bassist...
Seriously does it matter what religion a player confesses to?
I thought music was for people with open minds.
Manson and Danzig bassist are quite good? LOL
Dude, what planet are you from? We are talking about musicians here. Those guys are complete HACKS. My grandma can play better than either one of them.
I hope I offended you.
well, he did ask about Christian bassists.
Christian McBride, I say, only slightly tongue-in-cheek...
I would said either Shaun (Don't know his last name) from No apples for adam, or Jimmy Green from Spin 490 and Dropknee (he's in both)
How about Abe Labouriel or Rick Cua or Doug Pinnick?
I like Traa from P.O.D., Otto Price from D.C. Talk (though he's really independant of any band), Tai Anderson of Third Day, and of course Trip Wamsley who is totally independant of any label of band, though he tours with just about every genre there is. This dude rocks. Check him out! http://www.tripwamsley.com
And hey! Where is No Apples For Adam? I haven't heard anything about them in forever! I saw them last year when they come here to MTSU to play and loved them, but haven't hear word one as to what they are up to now.
lmAo thejello that was hillarious.... haha for real bro
I know they're not known for their skills
I just couldn't think of any other players to mention that would get some fanatic response from you...to my disappointment the response I got was cool and to the point. The don't strike me as especially good. I like Stu Hamm and Les Claypool they are good for real...but do they qualify as christians???
How about the best agnostic bass player? (I don't believe in atheists.)
I'd say God.
You KNOW he's a bass player, and slaps like a mofo.
I think Chris A. is the best Christian bass player, j/k
i'd recommend Lure609 's new Bassist.....
Doug Pinnick from King's X (because he keeps his mouth shut about it...) - but I really don't care about a person's belief - I'm an atheist...following some religion doesn't per se make you a better person - or musician, for that matter...I even found that deeply religious persons can be a genuine PITA...
