Who does the best bass amp. 1. Messa Boogie? 2. Ampeg? 3. Galien-krueger? 4. other make Thanks for the help
With my limited experience of amps/cabs: fender, ampeg, tech21, swr, aguilar, eden, GK, EA,carvin. I have to say I like the sound of Eden heads and the sound of Aguilar cabs, atleast the GS-112. DANG! I wish eden wasn't bought out! maybe its for the better? love the flexibility of some of their pricery heads.
Ok Dave, i'll play along. You are the king, Dave. now that's flame fodder if i've ever seen it. i seriously hope you're joking.
You've got your King Diamond, your King Crimson, your Burger Kings and your BB King, but Elvis Presley was the king. Oh, wait... Sorry.
For rock/metal, there is no better than Ampeg SVT's and I would love to have an SVT stack with an 8x10, but my GK leaves me just happy.
Mind you, I said most high fidelity, not best. Who else uses Class A as much or offers a special low impedance cable driver?
Are you kidding? Certainly none of the three you listed. The poll should look more like: 1. Eden 2. Aguilar 3. EBS 4. Glockenklang
I have owned all the above at one time or another and they each did the job I needed at that time. My vote for overall...... goes to AMPEG. Treena
Naawww.....it's gotta be Mesa; handmade, innovative design, classic rootsy tone, and that unbeatable service. I mean, you try phoning up Ampeg or GK to chat with the dude who personally designed yer head....good luck.
70s Ampeg. Some modern hand built stuff isn't put together as well. It's a lot personal preference, soundwise, but there are clear leaders in craftsmanship. Aguilar, Walter Woods, Phil Jones (from what I've seen) and to a lesser extent Mesa(QC appears to be slipping), are heads and shoulders above any of the mass produced stuff in terms of components, construction and attention to detail.
