My Reunion Blues Continental is too narrow for my '65 Baldwin short-scale (30") hollow-body bass, which has an overall length of ~46", and width of ~16".

I'm looking for a gig bag of comparable quality.

    Recommendations appreciated! :D

The Vertigo, iGig, Protec, and Mono M80 are also too narrow. :meh:

I have to admit that when I first saw Baldwin, I thought piano. That would be some gig bag!

I'm pretty sure that Levi's makes a wide bass bag, but it won't be a modern-styled case. It will be more along the lines of the cloth/leather cases. You could also check into companies that are making semi-hollow basses now (Warwick, Hagstrom, Eastman, etc...) and see if a stock gig bag could be ordered. Anything that a Gibson or Gretsch will fit into should work with your Baldwin.

I've had extremely good results with custom bags made by Mooradian. Send Peter an email.

    I have the original hard case, Fryer Tuck, but I can't wear it like a backpack! ;) BTW, it has unusual dimensions: 46" L x 18" W x 5.5" D

She's a player, and she's got the wrinkles to prove it, but she's a rare and beautiful gal, nonetheless! She's a fairly recent acquisition, replacing one for whom I became increasingly nostalgic, which was stolen about forty years ago; glad to have one back in the fold. Same color, too!

Thanks for letting me know about Probag, LowLife350; it'a nice to have options!

I've got an Epiphone Jack Casady, and I am REALLY leery of putting that bass in a gig bag. Just because most good bass gig bags are meant to hug a solid body instrument pretty tight.

Just as a point of curiosity, have you tried a general search for gig bags for hollowbody basses? They seem to be much more en vogue these days, and I'm sure someone may have found one that works reasonably well for a bass like the Lakland Hollowbody, the Epiphone Jack Casady or Rivoli, or maybe the Gibson Midtown. A gigbag like that may work for your Baldwin.

And check out Musicians Friend, too. They have some gig bags that work for acoustic bass guitar, and one of those could suit your purposes.

I'll add those models to the list. Very helpful. :)
