Who makes a "vertical" 2x10 combo?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Inconnu, Jan 19, 2013.

  1. I might be needing a new amp and my aim is to use as less floor space as possible. I like the sound of 10 inch speakers, so a vertical 2x10 combo would be cool... Any idea who makes them? (I know about Ampeg's micro stacks, I just try to know what else is in that range). Price range 600$ and below.

  2. Oh, and I've seen the Carvin. Anything else?

  3. TC RH450 combo. Very nice, assuming they are in production.

Gallien Krueger has a small and light vert. 210 combo in their MB line. I have the first gen 210 model, and I really like it. Sound great on it's own, and it is just as good paired with m Ampeg 15".

Sure you can stack almost any 2x10 combo on its side.

The purists are looking for the drivers and tweeter to be lined up in a perfect vertical column, to prevent cancellation and nodes thru the horizontal listening field.

Yes, I know that. But any 210 & amp he likes will accomplish exactly the same thing & probably be a better total package than a joined-at-the-hip "official" combo.
