I have seen many amazing basses on this site recently, and I just want to know who you all think makes the most beautiful basses.
Consider wood quality (grain, figure, etc...), headstock design, body design, EVERYTHING......
I have to say that Nordstrand takes the cake...jaw dropping work IMO.

    What do you think?

I like the wood, but not the upper bout.

If I had one of these I'd refer to it as 'the hump'

Linc Luthier of course!!! :hyper: You've seen my bass, no? Check this out:

That's my bass!!! I don't know of anyone who makes a structure out of wood like the interior bracing on the Impression and then puts such incredible woods together to make a beautiful and beautiful sounding instrument!!! It has such an intriguing design!!! I love it!!!

bee basses may have a funky design, but I like it, its cool. The craftmanship on some of the basses is amazing...try and find some pics from Fred's NAMM booth from past shows....

Honestly, I'm not too big on boutique basses, but given the choice, I'd probaby say a Benevante or Nordstrand.

Not enough main options bud, and a bit can-o-worm-ish as it dwells with personal tastes, Conklin guitars does it for me , but all those luthiers have stunning instruments, you cant nominate one the best
tough, they all have their unique characters.

For my eye, Nordstrand's tops and his SC design are the most attractive I've seen.
  13. I just voted other
F Bass for me....Because it's the purest lines of basses for my tastes..

As if you could actually pick one builder? I'm sorry, but there are MANY MANY talented builders out there putting together absolutely gorgeous instruments. I personally believe that it is impossible to pick only one.

BTW, this poll is definitely going to be biased towards the better known builders. It is hardly an unbiased poll.

pagelli. that golden bass is amazing. and I am obsessed with it.

Other than that other, other others would be

Fbass, the double P, blonde one, alain caron basses, all great.

And while unorthodox, I think Spalt's half metal half wood basses look awesome.

From the list I would say Nordstrand.
  19. yeah there are many great builders out there but if i have to choose one it would be Ritter

F Bass and MTD usa for the body shape. Like a fine woman, nothing quite like it. Beautifully sculpted and pricey. F Bass and MTD are in the same class. Nordstrand body shape is inspired by Mike Tobias, and his woods and finish work is also in another world. Too hard to say.

There is still something sexy to me about the J bass body shape. Call me meat and potatoes.
