I have a black Hipshot A that the finish hasn't chipped yet.

+1. I have black Hipshot hardware on with my Roscoe. It seems to be holding up really well.

  5. +1 on the hipshot bridge...

I also put on some black hipshot tuners and unfortunately used a ratchet to tighten the top part, took the finish off both the washer and the corners of the nut. I'd amagine if any tool were used it would do the same so I guess next time I have to see how tight my hands will be able to get it.

    Hey MM,

IME hipshot is a good company, but not the best! The painted tuners don't hold the finish at all, the bridge are better, tho.
IME, Gotoh tuners are the best I came along. ABM and Schaller are very good, too.

    Just my 2 pesos
