I recently purchased one of these, wanted to see how everyone liked them. Volume dosn't seem to be as loud as my peavy 115 combo. Do I need to get an extension cab for the 180 watts? I had trouble at first getting the sound dialed in, I like the sound now, but not real happy with the power.
  2. Yep, you'll need an extension cab for the full 180w.

The internal speaker is an 8ohm load, so to get the full power from the EB180 head inside the combo, you'll need to run it with an 8ohm extension cab to give a total 4ohm load to the head section.

With just the internal speaker it'll be running somewhere around 100w+/-

I have an EB 12-180 combo, and I love it. It has no trouble keeping up with my band at practices by itself, and when it's stacked on top of my Mag410 cab to make a 4ohm 112+410 load, it's very loud.
