Who played bass for King Tubby?

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by Alan Vorse, Dec 28, 2005.

  1. I have a great compilation disc of Dub Reggae (Rough Guide to Dub Reggae) with no musician credits. From what little info I've found, it COULD be Aston Barrett, Robbie Shakespeare or Flabba Holt. Anyone out there know their Reggae?

Leroy Sibbles, Val Douglas, and Lloyd Brevett played bass with King Tubby, also...But whether they were on the tracks in your comp, I cannot say.

You might like Dub Gone Crazy: The Evolution of Dub at King Tubby's 1975-1977, and Keith Hudson's Pick-A-Dub, too.

  3. Thanks for the info. The store I got that comp. at has a King Tubby bin so I'll look for those titles.

Any opinions on King Tubby vs. Lee "Scratch" Perry?
