I have already stated that I have become a fan of Knower. Although I don’t think he is on their album, Knower’s touring bassist, Sam Wilkes knows how to make a P-bass and an octave pedal sound good! He is playing on the top clip. Two other clips are covers. Who do you think covered it best, and what do you think of the Wilk’s original line?

Sorry, I got distracted by the girl. What was the question again?

I think the first guy (in glasses) has a much better grasp and much better right hand technique. I wish he used a 4 string though. Both are very good players. Second guy needs to refine his right hand technique. I'm sure he's fatigued by the end of a gig night.

And yeah, this band has caught my eye.

Yes, I see what you mean about the guy on the black Jazz’s left hand technique in particular. The guy on the Sandburg looks more comfortable. And yes, Genevieve is a cute little distraction!;)

  4. Doc...you surprised be by calling yourself a fan. I listened/watched about 5 or 6 YouTube videos of them....and honestly, the only thing that made me watch that many was this:

I can watch more, but only with the sound muted...

I guess there must be some sort of connection between Knower and young, nerdy bassists with great chops.

Sam Wilkes also plays with a funk cover band "Scary Pockets". Discovered these guys the other day(possibly from someone on TB) and have really enjoyed their stuff.
