warwick corvette in jazz setting? Anyone? any pros and amateurs around here who plays warwick corvette on jazz gigs?
I've seen some fretless Warwicks in some Jazz combos. It seems to work well. "Sound of wood", ya know? Plus there's just something special about the fretless Warwicks.
I have my warwick thumb NT.. I don't use it on teh jazz gigs though. The tone isn't great for a jazz setting. I do love using it for funk gigs. The tone is very bridge-pickup-y, so yeah.. You won't be able to get those really deep tones that jazz usually needs. A corvette has a greater PU spacing, so it would be better for a jazz setting than the thumb.
My fretless streamer Jazzman, neck pup soloed, fingered near the neck, with labella flats. Upright tone in an electric bass.
