Bob Geldof, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Bono, Van Morrison, Rod Stewart...

What musician should be knighted next and why?

I don't think people from Minneapolis can be knighted.

But realistically I’d like to see Paul Weller get the recognition. Probably won’t due to his politics.

True, (I was joking) but nor can Geldof or Bono really as they are not British citizens. It’s odd that they can be awarded KBE but not be called Sir.
  8. Me. I think I should be knighted.
The same for all of you, as well.

He was offered knighthood, but turned it down.

Yep, and it's a demotion from a Prince to a Knight.

"On March 11, 1997, rock star Paul McCartney was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II." That's why my name is SirMjac28 :)

On merit, Roger Waters. I doubt Roger would accept it of offered though (is it just me, or does he come off as a bit anti-establishment?)
