Does anyone know if anyone stocks Genz Benz power amps in the Chicago area?

I want to try one out to verify I like it.

I didn't see any brick and morter stores on their website.

Downtown Chicago, or suburbs? I have 2 mom/pop type stores, Hix Bros. music out here in Aurora, that's where I first saw the NeoX and Shuttle combos. Problem is, they don't have many on the floor. One combo, or one cab, not a decent range. So if your goal is to try the gear in person, you might be better off buying from MF or something and just eating the shipping costs to return it.

Looks like Sam Ash stocks GB. I haven't been in there in a while, so I can't tell you what they might have.

I'm kind of surprised Bass Club Chicago doesn't carry them, it would fit right in with their other gear. You could scroll down to the BCC forum here and ask Mark if he has any plans to get them in.

Supposedly guitar center does (it's all on the website). But they never have it in the store.

I'm in the NW suburbs of Chicago.

GC and SA do not carry GB at the stores.

I tried an Eden WTX 500. Liked the sound but don't care for inputs on the front. Not when it's going to be rack mounted.

Tried the Mark Bass III today. Liked it and was going to buy it until I read that most suggested that the GB sounded better. I'm doing Classic Rock in a band.

Wanted to try the GB to see if I agree that it sounds better than the Mark Bass III.

Can't say a bad word about either. Different shades of good.

  11. Both really good, just like the GB sound better.

What puts Genz Benz head and shoulders above everyone else is their customer service, which is also well-documented here, I believe. Jeff personally answered every question I threw at him, and that's even before I owned the gear. Made me fight for the Neo Pak that a store here didn't want to sell me(own it now).

I saw GB shuttles and bass cabs at FatTone guitars in Northbrook, IL about 6mos ago.

Their site only shows the GB shuttle soft case now, but give them a call.
