Who uses the EWS Trilogic III preamp?

I just ordered a Trilogic III preamp pedal. I want to use it with my Markbass LM2 which doesn't have quite enough of the upper top end Marcus Miller zing factor.
My question is. Would it be better to just bypass the LM 2 preamp altogether and go straight into the effects return? I have a pedalboard that I would go through first ( no more room for additional pedals on it though). Besides I think once I find the tone out of the Trilogic, it would probably always be on. On the other hand I realize that using the Trilogic after my pedalboard into the LittleMark preamp would give me more flexibility.
How to you guys use the Trilogic?

Pushing an amp's effect return isn't the same as going straight into a power amp. You'll be able to drive the LM2 just fine through the return.
That's great news.BTW I'll be getting the Trilogic III not the II, it has more features and it's supposed to sound really transparent. My LM II doesn't have a whole lot of sparkle on the top end and I'm hoping the Trilogic will make up for that. I figured it is full featured enough that I might not need the preamp of the LittleMark. We'll see...

I will probably sell it. Not that it is not good but it does not improve the sound I already have.
If you do sell it, please consider me for it's next potential owner - I'd love to try it. I've been using the xotic bass rc and it's so clean and transparent... It's exactly what I want, minus the fact that it has no Mid EQ.

Whats your setup? In what way were you hoping that the tri would improve your sound?

I have active J Basses ( Atelier Z, 74 Fender, Modulus, Moon) and play through a couple of MarkBass LM IIs and Avatar 112s. I also have a EBS HD350 which has a totally crystalline high end, more so than the LM II. I was hoping that the Trilogic would give me that. But it doesn't make enough of a difference.
My favorite modern J bass sound comes from Xotic basses and I was hoping I would be able to replicate that sound without having to spend 3000.- but the preamp is just a small component of the Xotic sound. I do like the sweepable mids but I want to keep my effects chain as lean as possible so that I'm less tempted to fiddle with the controls on a gig. If I was still traveling and using rented gear I would definitely hold on to the Trilogic.
In the next few days I'll plug It in one more time but since none of my basses are passive I'm pretty sure I will want to part with it.
