New Fodera with a Peacock Maple top. I haven't seen one like this before. Very nice!

Huh. Looks like a combination of burl and flame. Cool top though.

And if it's coming from Fodera, it's probably an extra two grand for that top.

Thats a really classy guitar. I especially like the contrast between the maple fretboard and the top. Those abalone inlays top it off perfect.

Don't know about the gold hardware though.

I really dig that one. I was just saying today how I was getting tired of Maple tops, but that one is spectacular! I just don't know about that one gold-topped knob, though.

I have never heard of Peacock Maple, but it is real similar to my MTD Top. Mike T. called it a burl maple. There is no stain on this top, just plain maple.

Not to be critical, but I wonder why Fodera didn't do a better job of bookmatching the top (what do they think it is a Les Paul or something :D )

Where have I seen this bass before? I know I have because I already had this picture saved in my cool basses folder. Whose is it?

The burl of the tree is often that big growth off of the side - sort of like a tumor. It can also be a root ball. It is why you'll get swirling grain. Here is my Myrtle Burl top

    That's a reflection.

It'd look better w/ a chrome bridge though, I think.
