That is a great deal. I've been using a Demeter for a long time now and it's really hard to use anything else.

If you've got the money, you cannot beat that amp. I'd seriously consider it if you're on the fence.

  12. Yeah but it has a "pre amp". I've also never seen a tube power amp.

Where were you guys when I sold that particular amp to him last year (he was the only bidder--I know, I know, I should have sold it here and not ebay, but still)?

However, it is a great amp. A very unique sounding tube amp (very refined and tight). I sold it because I needed a little more grunt and wanted to get away from having to transport a 6 space rack (I replaced the rack with an Aguilar DB359 and have been more than pleased, particularly now that I am using an extremely loud and efficient cabinet). I am surprised he is selling it, but at the same time I am not. I think his plan was to add the Demeter's power to his DB359 for a whopping 500 watts of tube power . . . I could only imagine (if memory serves me well, his rig was the 359 into a NV215 and the send of the 359 into the Demeter amp into an NV425). wow!!

Just so you know, I replaced the 6550s in March of 2005 on that amp so they should still have quite a bit of life in them (assuming he hasn't changed them or done strange things to it--I used Svetlanas).

That works.........Until the collection agencies come knockin!

This amp might be worth filing bankruptcy over;)

Its got all the right goodies too, the 1/4" input and the fan.

Its tempting thats for sure, but its the test right now of practicality vs. pure wanton lust. I've failed that test too many times!!!!!!!!!!!!
