Is anyone using wireless into your effects? I've never run wireless. The way I'd like to go is wireless into the effects then wireless from the effects to the amp but I'm concerned about latency using 2 wireless systems. Can this be done in a usable way?
Wireless to wireless is too many variables for me. I run wireless into my pedalboard and park it in front of my amp. That said, my effects are all set-and-forget so YMMV.
What I want to do is a fully self contained pedal board using batteries. If someone were to make a pedal board with onboard power and wireless on both ends I bet it would catch on fast.
Yes batteries are clean and no cords but the years cost of alkaline could pay for a Fedora (lol)if you use a few pedals.Have you considered a iso power supply? Or are you looking to be totally cordless?
I'm looking at building a rechargeable board. It's not simple but not rocket science either. I would be able to kick my board around and never worry about trip wires of death.
Use a couple of Battery Buddied 5000mA That would make it rechargeable and should be enough power for everything .
I go wireless into my pedals. I go into the PA from there, but my pedals are "wireless" thanks to a Volto. I no longer use an amp, but would never run wireless from pedals to amp. What's the point? Do the pedals jump around on stage or hop off and party with the audience?
I use a Boss WL50 (VERY low latency!) into the pedalboard but still a big cable from board to amp because they don't move around relative to each other. I like the idea of a fully wireless pedalboard, on the surface, but you're then dealing with rechargeable battery pack that has enough juice to cover the pedals AND the wireless transmitters, plus two hops worth of wireless and twice the inherent latency plus associated potential for drop, interference, etc. and it's probably something that, while nice and clean, wouldn't be up to the level of real profitability en masse.
