I have looked religiously(daily) for five years on ebay, CL, TB, GC and simple google searches and maybe 2 have been for sale. Do people just hold onto them? What gives?

It's 'cause they mis-spell them as "Squire" in the listings, LOL!!

I've played bass since 1986, and this is the very first time I've heard of them. I'm betting that plays no small part in why they're hard to find.

How many exist and who plays them?

    I been everywhere, man...
    None. At all.
It's a very small shop, with not much of a dealer network, with no real advertising or well known endorsees that play them in popular/visible bands. May or may not be building anymore.

Last update on his Facebook page was 2012, doesn't look good for any current activity.

It's a mythical bass that everyone wants, but no one has ever seen.Or played.
Google searches turn up nothing. It doesn't show up on cameras.
It's seen in the corner of your eye,but disappears when you look directly at it.
The maker is located on Bimini Road.

Perhaps it's simply time to move on and buy a Bvlgario or LaCartier bass.

Didn't Bleeding Gums Muurphy's bass player use one? I mean, the guy did have a huge problem with Fabregue eggs so it would make sense.
