I've had a friend "fishbulb" tell me about talkbass for a while. I never really checked it out until recently. I use to frequent HCBF, but after being here for a while I see the difference in the quality of threads, moderators, seriousness of the users towards the love of bass playing. It been a little hard seeing soo many SWR thread, but I guess they are worthy of a reputation, but I'm not sure if it was caused by the banner ads "must buy SWR, must buy SWR...." I do own a Bass 350 and had some cabs/combos etc.

Why do you like TalkBass or other forums??

I like it because it's very active, lots of good info and help, and despite it being so active there is not much noise or irritants. The quality of the discussions is very high compared to other forums. Thanks to the moderators!

But mainly I like it because of the people here, a forum like this is just the sum of the people here, and there's a lot of knowledgeable and helpful ones around!

It's the free booze for me :bassist:

Lots of interesting people from all over the world, and I can brush up my English.
  8. Almost everyone here is cool, almost everyone here is serious (about bass) and almost everyone here will help another member with a personal problem. Hey, it seems weird at a music site, but, the people here are of a high caliber.

Lots of good humor I find.

I also like reading a post where Ed Fuqua or Munjibunga scalp someone live on the internet. It's kinda like reality tv only realer-er-er.
  10. Thank you, Blackbird.

    uh......because I'm bored....and because I love da bass.....and.....yah....lotsa stuff.

I'm glad I randomly stumbled upon it while doing a google search, I'd be so lost without it.

Haha, I find it ironic that I stumbled on TB about a 15 months ago, while searching for blink 182 tabs...:oops:

I still laugh at it occasionally, it's good to see how things have changed... now I'm tackling Dream Theater's "A Change of Seasons...":D

But I love TB because people are nice, knowledgable, and treat me to bass porn:D Oh yeah. And, I learned about a TON of gear that I otherwise would never have gotten info of... Which probably accounts for me extremely expensive taste... Damn you all!:D

    But yeah, great site!

Actually what we Europeans need is an audio chat or something similar. I personally feel that my written English is OK but I could sure use some vocal practice.. :bawl:
