Think So?.......Pink Floyd just send me to sleep
I like 70s Floyd, but Division Bell is just enough to keep me from sleeping. I love Brian Eno and sometimes try to meditate to it and fall asleep, but it's the point of the music so that's OK.

Think So?.......Pink Floyd just send me to sleep
I see you never experienced a rock night in the 80s with classics like 2112 playing!
I have enjoyed Floyd the past 36 years with no substances because there is amazing depth in their music (Meddle through Final Cut for me.) Most Rush fans would say their best music was in the 70's up to Signals in '82 (with that, lots of Rush fans do not rate Signals very high...).
......Yeah, I'm with you..........Newcastle Mayfair!!
That's not what I said at all. I never said no-one can be moved by virtuosity. I said it doesn't affect me that way. Virtuosity alone will not move me. There has to be something else besides speed, technical proficiency and angular form.
well yes....but the alcohol no doubt helped! With Iron Maiden, Saxon, etc. you'd get head banging, but with Rush it was more like interpretative dance, but still movement. Dancing about freedom, or something.
... and I bet you know all the PF lyrics word-for-word. I wonder how many people remember as many Rush lyrics ?
well yes....but the alcohol no doubt helped!
Even in other parts of the North of the UK, Newcastle Brown Ale was the rock night lubrication of choice back then...
I'm a Geordie, but I wouldn't wash my feet in Newcy Brown.....no offence to you!
I'm a Guinness man I'm afraid. Probably my mother's Irish roots
Both could have been improved with yodeling.![]()
Hmmm. It's probable we were at many of the same gigs. (ex-pat Blyth lad)......Yeah, I'm with you..........Newcastle Mayfair!!
Ha ha! I have a good friend who said Floyd would make a rat want to end it all. For me, in the right mood, they are untouchable, but when I'm not they can definitely bum me out.
Why is blue better than red?
