why is the spector NS2 so popular?

Fellow spector owners please explain to me why you love your NS-2 Spector's so much. I have heard alot of people say they wouldn't play any other bass. I own one but sometimes it just doesn't seem right for the song. It seems like I should be using a Fender instead. So tell me what type of music do you use your Spector's for in a live band setting. And do you feel they are versatile enough to cut the classic's such as classic rock, blues , country etc?
