I'm curious, why does Sadowsky, Warmoth, USAG, etc, provide a down-sized J bass, but no downsized P bass?

    Do you mean like this?:
Warmoth Custom Guitar Parts - Dinky P-Bass Body

They may be a little less popular, simply because the full sized P bodies tend to be light enough as-is. J's can be light enough, but really depends more on the wood. YMMV.

  5. Certain manufacturers also have offered dinky Ps. The Valley Arts Custom Pro, for example.

I think it's less popular because a standard P body is already smaller than a standard J body.
