I'm thinking of buying a NTBT 3.3 with vol, bal and concentric bass and treble to put in my Lakland Skyline JO5..

Has anyone done this, or put a battery and a preamp of the same size (roughly) in a Jazz Bass cavity? I'm worried that there won't be enough space in there..

    Thanks for your time!

Haven't done it on a JO5, but based on other Jazz bass experience it's going to be very tight in there. Routing may be required.

Why not go with a J-Retro? Fits in there perfectly.

I don't think it will fit.

Not so much because of the preamp but because of the battery.

Thanks for your help guys.. I'm not to keen on routing, so I'll have to think some more about this..

I added the ntbt to a mim Jazz. Sawdust everywhere. And sloppy workmanship. But Its all hidden by the pickgard and really improved the sound.

But the mids are where all the tone lives- master them, and you will be miles ahead on the tone spectrum! :D

Maybe the SD bassline preamps. And the newly smaller aguilar obp-1 might also.

Would an NTBT fit into a MIM Jazz if you installed one of those compartments that allows you to take in and out a battery without unscrewing anything?
