Will an Ampwedge help?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Esquillama, Mar 28, 2006.

  1. Hey, this weekend I was using my new Schroeder 1210L,
and had my 6 space rack on top. At one point, the 1/4"
plug from my wireless popped out just enough to stop the
signal flow. Once I pushed it back in, all was well.

What I'm wondering is, would putting an Ampwedge inbetween
my cabinet and my rack help with any vibration? I don't want
to have that happen again. I know I could put my rack somewhere
else, but it's pretty convenient where I had it. It would also
be nice to have it slightly angled for better viewing of my
    rack-mounted tuner and such.

    Thanks for any helpful comments.

Hello. Are you sure it was vibration that caused the problem. I've had my 1210 just CRANKED, and it was solid as a rock... no vibration issues at all with my head on top.

I can't imagine a cab vibrating so much that a snug-fit 1/4" plug would actually vibrate out of the input:confused:
  3. I was assuming it was from all the extra bass coming out.
I've been running Carvin speakers for the last 13 years or so,
and I've never FELT my bass playing like I did with my 1210L.

    Maybe there's another explanation. I don't know.
  4. Well, I just ordered an Ampwedge. Hopefully I'll have it by
this Saturday and see if it helps.
If nothing else, I'll be able to see my tuner easier.
I'll post a follow up after Saturday's gig if I have it to use by then.

    Speaking of things vibrating..

the other night i grabbed a long island before going up for a set. i set that ontop of my rack. After the third song, and finaly a break from the jam, i turn around to grab a drink. Wait.. where is the glass.. and whats all this liquid doing on top of my amp!?

I love my rack, i held an entire pint glass of liquid without spilling it on everything.

but the bartender came up to clean it up, and managed to spill a few ice cubes on the mixer that nobody saw. next band got a suprise when front of house died.

oh well. it was 2am. time to go home anyways.
