Will an outboard preamp solve my problem?

I have a 61 mustang bass that has unfortunately low-output pups that cannot be modified.

I was thinking about getting a new axe but as a cheaper alternative

I was considering getting the Aguilar 924 outboard preamp. would this solve my problem?

  3. You can also rewind the pups, this will give them more output!

FWIW, I also recommend the Sadowsky DI/ preamp pedal!!
