Will any of this work together?

  1. I've had a bit of a financial windfall and I'm looking into getting a new rig, and this is what I've set my heart on..

I've tried the LowDown with my bass and loved every minute of it, so that choice is unlikely to change...
I could be persuaded into spending more on the cab if the tone was there. (Ampeg springs to mind)

These Cabs seem dirt cheap, which always worries me but my colleague owns an Ashdown ABM head through Ashdown Mag410 and a Mag115 and he seems to swear by ashdown, so :meh:

Both Cabs use Speakon Connectors, but I'll be damned if I understand the slightest thing about Ohms or Wattage.

For example, what would happen if I use a 750 watt head with 400/600/800 watt cabs?
Would the whole world blow up?

If I were to purchase the 810, would my 750 head provide enough power to really make it sing?

Watts are pretty meaningless across the board. With a cab that big, you don't need much power to be loud.

On top of that those cab rating are a pile of BS. Just use your ears, if the cab sounds like its being pushed to hard then it is. For that matter, go try one, if you like the sound then they are good. If you dont then they are bad.

That head will work with either cab, but not both. If the idea is to use the 410 for smaller gigs and the 810 for larger ones then I'd suggest a 2nd 410 rather than the 810.

If I were in England and were shopping for a cabinet, I would go straight to Barefaced.

  8. Thanks, that's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for.

Even if that did work, I can probably only afford 2 410's or the one 810, the 2 410's works out at about £100 more.
