Will EMG single coils hum?

    Will a set of active EMG Jazz Pick-ups get the 60 cycle hum?

    I had a J/P EMGs years ago and I remember them NOT picking up any hum, my memory could be bad :eyebrow:

    Active EMGs are low impedance as well as shielded and sealed under vacuum, so even without grounding you shouldn't get any hum or buzz.

    If I remember their passive ranges (Hz and selects lines) still require grounding, but do have at least some shielding and are relatively quiet.

    The "single" coil EMGs are not actually single coils, they have 2 coils on top of each other, maybe one is a dummy coil, I dunno.
