I've long loved fenders Duff bass and ofcorse no lefty to be had. I made my own from a Kramer 710st and a jazz neck but still, I want a real one! Any chance of getting one without paying 10k or some other nonsense?

I didn't think they made lefties of signature models at all.

And no, never saw a lefty sig model. Hell, I'd be happy with a squire! I can always make another one but hell, it'd be nice to get the real deal, overpriced as it is.

As a lefty bass player I can relate, there's some Fender basses I'd want, the early-1980's Fender Precision Special is one. I remember as a young beginner in the early 1980's drooling on the Fender ad in Guitar Player magazine showing a candy apple red Special and dreaming of owning one. But as far as I know Fender never made any lefty Precision Specials.

Not trying to start the debate again, but I beat the system. My left handed butt just started playing basses they make.

You could probably get Fender to make one for less than 10k... probably not much less though.

Seems a bit weird to ask me and Talkbass members if Fender will make a particular configuration of bass. Ask Fender.

I sympathise, but I con't figure out why you think someone outside of the Fender corporation would have a clue what they are up to. Heaven knows most of those "my cousin who worked in their shipping department years ago says they are in development" stories are trash.

I think you missed the point of sig models. They are a replica of the original, no, it's not available in various colours or configurations, it is supposed to be the same as the artist plays.

They never have. All those lefties are from a parallel universe - well not exactly parallel.

It's a problem. My brother is ambidextrous. He has one foot in both universes, but his mind doesn't seem to be in either./
