Will the Demeter Compulator do this?

I want to boost my passive P5. I know an outboard preamp will do this but can the same thing be done with the Demeter?

Yes it will provide a louder signal on the output, but it won't be exactly the same signal that it sees on the input (this is a job for a boost pedal... many choices here). That said, the Compulator can do something like clean boost, but it's kinda overkill for that.

You have to understand that any compressor has one basic function: Gain reduction. On some units, the reduced signal is many times amplified with an output amplifier. The compressor itself doesn't provide the gain, the amplifier does.

    The Demeter has this.
