Second day I start to play bass I had problem with bad sound for slap (sounds like braces)... Now I use this. I know you can't find this liquid out of czech rep. but I'm sure something similar exist over there... :bassist:

How do you care your strings? :eyebrow:

Hmmm Interesting...Sounds like it could be marketable. I'd prefer something where I didn't have to remove the strings though.

Hmmm I've tryed many string cleaners fast-fret, dunlop, kyser, ghs etc. cleaning by alkohol, ultarsound, benzin. But it's never sounds like after my procedure or boiled. I don't know Elixir strings maybe this is good way. Maybe it's sci-fi to make bright strings for long time (forever). Maybe some day...(this company will be very "IN"...)
  4. I'll stick to soaking strings in de-natured alcohol.

    Works good for me.
  5. I soak my strings in a mixture of mango puree, tuna fish, and olive oil.

Then I lay them out on the floor and let the cat lick them clean. Kitty does a find job! :D

Seriously, why not just boil them about 20-25 min in water with a touch of dishwashing liquid and then just let them air dry for a day.

Remember, buy a cheap pan. Don't use your wife's good cookware.  Please, DON'T!
