winding your own pickups

    i read an article in bass player about audioslaves bass player winding his own pickups and I was wondering what that ment. thanx :D

    Hey man, you need to do some reading. Winding your own pick-up is building. If you know what a pick-up is and what it consists of. You know its coiled wire on a bobbin and the way to get the wire on is to wind it. Search the the forum and the net you'll get all the resources you need.

    It means one has a jig for holding the magnet rigged to a motor with a counter attached and various gauges of wire if they're experimenting and a lot of patience just to see if what you've done made any improvement over what's already available. Is that clear enough?
